Mod Integrations

Compatibility behavior and ways to correct food classification.

View source page on GitHub โ†—

Nourished can process food from vanilla and modded content, but a mod being compatible does not necessarily mean it has a custom Nourished integration. Nourished uses standard Minecraft food data, item tags, compatibility data, recipe information, and classification inference in different parts of its food systems.

A food being recognized as edible is not the same as its nutrient classification being guaranteed to match your expectations. Classification can vary depending on installed mods, tags, datapacks, and other available data.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Food Mod Compatibility

Nourished includes compatibility data for a range of mods, including Farmer's Delight and add-ons, Croptopia, Pam's HarvestCraft 2, Create: Food, Let's Do food mods, Naturalist, and Farm and Charm.

It also includes compatibility entries for some survival or gameplay mods, such as Cold Sweat, Legendary Survival Overhaul, Tough As Nails, Peak Stamina, and Spice of Life: Onion. These entries do not necessarily add custom nutrition effects or bonuses; their behavior depends on the compatibility data and the specific integration.

โš™๏ธ Compatibility Settings

Open Nourished's configuration screen and look under Compatibility. The available settings depend on the mods detected in your installation.

Compatibility settings can include separate toggles for:

  • Code compatibility โ€” registered compatibility behavior.
  • Tag compatibility โ€” tag-based compatibility and classification.

Nourished also reports detected mods in its compatibility screen. A detected mod is not necessarily a mod with dedicated, hand-authored compatibility data.

๐Ÿง… Spice of Life: Onion

When Block Heavy Sources is enabled and Spice of Life: Onion is installed, Nourished can use the food's nutrition value to determine whether it meets the configured heavy-source threshold.

Without that integration, Nourished uses the nourished:heavy_source item tag for this behavior. Nourished also has an optional Block Light Source setting that uses the nourished:light_source item tag. These settings are configurable.

๐Ÿฅ• Correcting Food Classification

If a food is classified incorrectly, you can adjust its data without changing Nourished:

  1. Add it to a suitable nourished:nutrients/* item tag.
  2. Add a source classification for an item or tag when you need explicit nutrient values.
  3. Use the scanner and its diagnostic tools to investigate how Nourished classified the item.

See Community Tags and Datapack Support for details.

๐Ÿงฐ KubeJS and Mod-Author Integrations

Nourished has an optional, experimental KubeJS integration for startup registrations and gameplay events. See the KubeJS Integration page for examples.

Java integrations can use Nourished's public API. See the Nourished API Reference.
